- ECS: Out of 64 (2 "bits" per R, G and B)

-
- AGA displays are the same as the ECS ones with the addition of up to 256K-
- colors in all modes (ECS allows 4 out of 64 colors in the "new" ones)
- ( + more ? Can't remember all about ECS ;)

- For WB2.1 and later...
-
- To investigate which "Monitors" (Display drivers) that will work on a 1084S
- you can do this:
-
- Assuming you have no special drivers installed (CyberGFX++).
-
- Open the drawer "SYS:Storage/Monitors/" and double-click on all
- but "VGAOnly". (You have just activated all drivers)
-
- Then run "SYS:Prefs/ScreenMode".
- Select one screenmode in the listview on the left.
- Read about it on the right side.
- If it says 15.6KHz or 15.7KHz it will work on a 1081-1085 type display.
- Other displays with the same specification can also be used.
-
- You will also note that there is a
- EURO:36Hz Hires (+ lace)
-
- This CAN be made to work on a 1084S (I run mine in this mode!).
- The drawback is: You *may* have to fiddle around *inside* your 1084!
- The Euro36-driver is set up _slightly_ outside the standard scanrate of a
- 1084.
- There are several files in AmiNET:hard/hack (?) about this, read them to
- check if you dare do the fiddling yourself.
-
- --- my setup ---
- EURO:36Hz Hires *lace*
-
- Visisible size : 704 x 400
- Min size: 640 x 200
- Max size: 16368 x 16384
- Max color count: 256 (or EHB/HAM6/8 = 64/4K/256K colors)
-
- Requires ECS+, NOT genlock-able, 67Hz refresh, 15.47kHz scan rate.
- --- end ---
-
- This is as close to 'steady screens' you can get on a 15KHz display.
